A Bit About Tracey Von Schmittou
My Background
I have worked in law since I was 16 years old. I raised three children, mostly as a single mother, as I worked as a secretary and then a paralegal, while attending college at night for eight years. I completed my undergrad at Barry University and then attended the MBA program at Nova Southeastern University, where I studied Conflict Resolution. I have been through divorce and custody litigation myself. I know how devastating that can be, emotionally and financially. I truly believe I can help a lot of people to work out whatever family law issues they may have without the necessity of court intervention while preserving relationships, assets, and psychological well being of children, if applicable. I previously volunteered as a Guardian Ad Litem in Lee County, FL. I took the 40 Hour Mediation Class with Gregory Firestone, PhD. Dr. Firestone is internationally known as a mediator. and founded the Mediation Institute. He is a public speaker and has published numerous articles in the field of mediation, negotiation and conflict resolution.
I received my Florida Supreme Court Certification on September 26, 2025 and my County Civil Certification shortly thereafter. My Mediator Number is: 34960 F.

My fee structure is as follows:

$75.00 per party per session if the parties' combined income is less than $50,000 per year

$100.00 per party per hour if the parties' combined income is between $50,000 and $100,000 per year

$150.00 per party per hour if the parties' combined income is more than $100,000
-
$150.00 per party per hour if no proof of income is given
A three hour minimum is required
